Emika’s First New Year’s Day

We spent our 2005 New Year’s Day in Mie, Japan.  Miki’s parents live in Suzuka (home of the Japan Formula 1), and her Grand-Mother lives in Matsuzaka (famous for their excellent beef). This was Emika’s first trip to Japan, and she met her Great-Grandmother and Great-Aunt in Matsuzaka.  Miki enjoyed a trip home for the first time in over a year, and Eric enjoyed his first New Year’s celebration in Japan with some great traditional Japanese food. Emika got to test drive some squeaky frog chairs, which Miki and her brother used when they were children.

Watch the New Year’s video, too.
